Have you seen the lightning on the Hotond logo? This is because of an unprecedented thunderstorm on the night of 16-17 July 1858. Some mills suffered damage, and at the mill in Spyte in Sint-Blasius-Boekel, two donkeys were ‘struck to death by the fire of heaven’. The Hotond Mill suffered 1,800 francs of damage. But that wasn’t all. On 26 April 1910, lightning struck the Hotondmolen. Mulder Cyriel Vanderhaeghen was at work and could only escape using a rope, because the stairs were already on fire.
De vernieuwde Hotond site opende haar deuren op de hoogste top van Oost-Vlaanderen. En dat op dé hoogdag in het wielrennen. Om de opening wat meer in de kijker te zetten werd er een festival georganiseerd. Wij verzorgden de branding en visuals rond dit evenement.
